Loose utilities cover

Reported in the Roads/highways category anonymously at 13:00, Thu 26 October 2017

Sent to Ealing Borough Council 5 minutes later

For the past few weeks there been has a loose utilities cover that 24/7 creates a huge racket every time a vehicle goes over it and because Victoria Road is so busy it never abates, I have, at times, had to wear ear plugs just to get some sleep. It is relentless. It appears to be at the entrance to a small gated trading estate, oblong white gates that are locked at night. I can't understand why no one else appears to have reported this. I am aware that there are utility vehicles on the road around midnight/1am that appear to be checking these covers/drains but they never seem to replace the covers properly and soon as they drive off the noise starts. Please rectify this as a matter of urgency

  • Got a response from the council suggesting that they would not accept reports from FixMyStreet in future but on that occasion they would - I am still waiting for the utilities department to come and fix the problem, difficult to sleep when the cover is being driven over 24/7 and is like a clacker going off everytime!!
