Drains blocked by leaves & pine needles

Reported in the Roads/highways category anonymously at 16:16, Sun 22 October 2017

Sent to Hampshire County Council 4 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 1130741.

From everton border to Lymington border there are leaves both sides of road now entering storm drain system for road water drainage, thus blocking the drains as council never routinely sweep the leaves & pine needles up. Please clear drains, widen paths ie clear paths of vegetation & please clear pine needles & leaves from road

  • Hampshire county council refuses to fix the problem. I fear surface water freezing as cant get to the highway ditch as drains blocked by leaves that havent been cleared up for over 18 months at least. Yet in Lymington the pavements get swepted while the A roads ignored?

  • I have a video of surface water flowing over the grate of the storm drain & drain NOT taking water off the road. council claim the drains are fine
