Cavernous pothole by pavement

Reported in the Potholes category anonymously at 15:56, Thu 12 October 2017

Sent to Warrington Borough Council 4 minutes later

Good Afternoon,

At 12:15pm Today (12/10/2017) I drove to my local Spar on Warrington Road and unfortunately as I parked up in one of the spaces outside the entrance, my wheel slipped into a very deep pothole right by the kerb which has resulted in me losing control of the steering and caused my alloy to hit the kerb damaging it quite badly. I do believe that if the pothole wasn't there, I would not have damaged my wheel as you can see from the attached photo the rest of pavement is very flat.

I have also attached a photo of my wheel so you can see the damage.

If you could please advise how to proceed with a claim it would be much appreciated.

Kind Regards, Kier Hampson

  • Good morning,

Thank you for contacting Warrington Borough Council.

Can you please confirm if the pothole is within the car park for the Spar shop?

If this happened when you parked in one of the spaces, the land/car park is not owned by Warrington Borough Council and you will need to contact the land owner directly regarding making a claim and to have the pothole repaired.

The case reference number is CRM 803181. Please quote this number if you need to contact us again.

    Kind regards WBC
