Litter hotspot

Reported in the Rubbish (refuse and recycling) category anonymously at 14:17, Fri 6 October 2017

Sent to Weymouth and Portland Borough Council 3 minutes later

The area along Newstead Road from Marsh Road, under the Rodwell Trail bridge and up to Knightsdale Road is a regular litter hotspot. This is to some extent understandable because there are no litter bins in this area. At least one, preferably two bins in this areawould enable litter to be properly disposed of.

  • The litter situation seems to be greatly improved, though the severest test is during the summer months. However I have not seen that any litter bins have been provided. For some reason the litter has been worst along west side of Newstead Road. One bin by the access path to the Rodwell Trail, and one opposite the end of Granville Road (both on the west side of Newstead Road) would be ideal.

  • After an initial improvement after my original posting, the situation has grown steadily worse, though the very worst is during the summer months. Still no action on litter bins!
