Thieving from charity clothes collection boxes

Reported anonymously at 05:39, Sat 30 September 2017

Sent to Harrow Borough Council less than a minute later

I had to stop a woman again yesterday from taking clothes out of the charity collection boxes in Tesco car park. I regularly have to do this as some people see them as a source of free clothing. One day I called the police as there was a woman filling up a van after searching through the bags to find items she liked. The police did attend.

  • It’s still happening. I see bags of clothes tipped out all along Station Road every morning which have been taken from the clothes bin and from charity shops.

  • Unfortunately people leave items outside the charity shops when they are closed and of course you get the undesirable people who ransack the bags. The borough is getting more rotten by the day, lawless society! Harrow has become a no go area now.
