There are no restrictions in place - We have received numerous complaints about the parking situation

Sent to Oxford City Council and Oxfordshire County Council 2 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 1110910.
I’m writing with regards to Ivy close, Oxford, OX4 2NB. I contacted the county council parking services earlier today, who had a look at google maps and could see the issue occurring now as well, however unfortunately there are no restrictions in place currently and so they are unable to help. They therefore passed me your details.I worked for Bromford Housing association and have a number of properties in the area. We have received numerous complaints about the parking situation. Since the area was built a Medical centre and pharmacy has gone into this small close and there is just not enough parking for people to gain access and therefore people are driving up onto curbs and abandoning their vehicles all over the place. Consequently this is causing resident to get blocked into their drive ways, or not being able to access them and that people are parking right down to the turning on the road, which is making it very dangerous to pull in or out of the next street. I have spoken to the Medical centre staff and they are having a lot of issues themselves, but unfortunately there is nowhere else they can allocated spaces and have had problems with access for ambulances in emergencies.I’m hoping that something can be done, maybe some double yellows or a similar resolution. Thanks in anticipation

Thank you for your report. Unfortunately Oxfordshire County Council no longer have a general budget for introducing parking controls other than that we might receive from external sources.
Consequently we do not have the necessary £2,600 for the legal work associated with proposing double yellow lines in this close. However, even without yellow lines it is an offence for vehicles to obstruct the flow of traffic however this can only be enforced by the Police.

We assessed this enquiry in line with our highways policies and found that no further work is currently required (see http://bit.ly/ 1PFCJPe). This enquiry has been logged for future reference.
