Completely unnecessary set of railings which prevent you walking straight into the park

Reported anonymously at 12:32, Wed 13 September 2017

Sent to Edinburgh City Council 3 minutes later

For some inexplicable reason, there are a set of railings installed here which are quite honestly daft aye. They force you to walk up and round the path, rather than straight on to the grass, but as the path is narrow and busy, this can often cause people with buggies, kids with scooters, kids with bikes and the like, to come into conflict with others. Removing these pointless barriers to the park will certainly help people access the park a whole lot easier, the railings do not appear to serve a purpose, other than being unnecessarily obstructive to anyone wanting to access the park from Carrick Knowe Drive, please remove these, or at least consider the proposal. Please?

  • Pretty valid point I raised. doubt it will be appreciated. despite the local residents who would like this done.

  • Stlll there, still herding everyone into a 6ft wide space, not wide enough for 2 buggies to pass each other, or people with dogs, or kids with bikes, or people on bikes, pointless walk of 20m round the railings, when most people would prefer to step off the path and across the grass. a joke.

  • Still not fixed or responded to, still causes forced conflicts with other path users, especially those with buggies, children with bikes, pets, shopping, mobility scooters, crutches or walking sticks, the path is too narrow, the adjoining hedge is too overgrown on the path side, by at least 1ft out. get rid of the pointlessly restrictive railings.
