Skid risk from loose chippings on junction.

A surface dressing with loose chippings was applied to Alfred Rd on Monday 11th Sept. Alfred Rd is a busy rat run and one of the steepest roads in Bristol, with a complicated 5-way junction. Since the chippings were left on Monday, I’ve witnessed several vehicles lose traction at the junction, with one skidding several feet into the junction when trying to stop at the bottom of Alfred Rd. My house lies opposite the end of Alfred Rd, and has suffered a vehicle impact in the past; I’m concerned that the current situation will lead to a collision with either my house or another vehicle.

I would be grateful if you could arrange for the road to be swept as a matter of urgency.

While I understand that it is normal to leave surplus chippings after rolling to allow them to be bedded in by traffic movements, and avoid bald spots, it would appear to be an unsuitable choice of surface treatment in this instance.
