Motorhome parked on road
Reported in the Car parking category anonymously at 18:27, Mon 11 September 2017
Sent to Fylde Borough Council and Lancashire County Council 3 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 1106257.
This motorhome is parked on road causng considerable annoyance to all in close proximity and being such a narrow road a potential obstruction to anyone turning left from Channing Road into Arundel would have to drive on other side of road and would not see traffic coming towards their vehicle and this traffic would not see them either and a serious accident very likely. Other drivers in close proximity pulling out onto road mainly from left to turn right also at risk as not able to see oncoming traffic from right until too late. Most Insurers insist on off road parking so leaving them on road not allowed as these vehicles are very collectible. .

Although no yellow lines on what is not a wide road anyway , this vehicle is causing dangerous problems to motorists trying to exit driveways turning right or left (right being most critical) and too when parked on their frontages in close proximity to its left in the main due to totally blocked visibility as the height of this vehcle in particular but length too is making doing so nigh impossible and a very serious accident waiting to happen. Council confirmed they are looking into it but, as yet, nothing to say whether is it acceptable or not.

Vehicle is still in position and has been moved further along from their frontage another few feet making it even more dangerous to vehices when exiting driveways to its left as pulling out blind into path of oncoming traffic. . Highways authority have been requested to look into it again as peoples lives and their vehicles should be considered as far more important and take precedence rather than the convenience of the owners parking it when there are safe alternatives easily put in place to stop unnecessary and unacceptable risks to others.

Request made to Lancashire Highways Dept. to re-consider due to danger to other motorists but no response received. It is just as dangerous to those pulling out from driveways to its left due to blind spot as it would be to other motorists if it were parked at junction which would not be considered acceptable and not be allowed !!

The Lancashire Highways have chosen not to respond totally ignoring the fact that trying to exit driveways from its left is equally as dangerous with lethal consequences due to obvious blind spot as it being parked in close proximity to junction which would not be permitted !! recognising the danger. It is a ticking timebomb waiting to happen and when it does those so irresponsible at Lancashire Highways will have to live with their consciences for encouraging and allowing such a preventable atrocity to take place and answer to those so unnecessarily maimed or bereaved due to apparent negligence.

Highways Dept. will not recognise or accept the danger to others due to this vehicle so it is going to be permanently parked where it is causing obstruction as vision totally blocked. Unfortunately, there seems little point in receiving another questionnaire despite this totally avoidable dire situation putting lives at risk
