Phone box wirh no hanset

I moved into the area 3 years ago and for most of that time the phone box on the corner of Honeybourne Drive/Portico Lane has been in disorder The glass/Perspex is constantly being smashed and there has been no handset no make a call for a long time. I have to pass this on a daily basis, I think a phone box is a bit of an eyesore but a phone box that is never in use/unable to be used is an eyesore and also pointless. Could it not be removed? Please advise
