Street lights on main A4 at roundabout out of action for approx 4 weeks

Reported in the Street Lights category anonymously at 09:59, Wednesday 23 August 2017

Sent to West Berkshire Council 1 minute later

The street lights at the very busy roundabout junction between the main A4 and the A340 have been out of use for approx. 4 weeks now. You now approach from a well lit road, to plunge into darkness at the roundabout. Even for drivers aware of the lights being out of action, its is not safe. The road narrows considerably at the roundabout and there have been a number of accidents there.

Updates

  • Still open, via questionnaire, 10:43, Wednesday 20 September 2017

  • Seems it is in the hands of the power company - that had a deadline set, now long past, to rectify the problem. Since the post, there appears to have been an accident which shows a vehicle, possibly a motorcycle, has hit and travelled over the roundabout.
