More mud from the site on the road.
Reported in the Roads/highways category anonymously at 09:57, Fri 18 August 2017
Sent to Southampton City Council 4 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 1092118.
Having 'installed' a wheel washing facility, and used it, though not with total success, the building contractors are allowing both 'Breedon' concrete mixer trucks and 'Inert' waste soil tipper trucks to depart the site with having the mud washed from the wheels and tyres. This is leading to a thick lumpy layer of mud along the road from the exit point and the spreading of a finer layer much further. And as they have a wheel wash facility there's no road sweeper truck on site now either. This is a breach of the Highways Act 1980, the Road Traffic Act 1988 and as a vulnerable road user I find this abuse of a key cycle route totally unacceptable.
Highways Act 1980 Section 137 “If a person, without lawful authority or excuse, in any way wilfully obstructs the free passage along a highway he is guilty of an offence”.
Highways Act 1980 Section 148 “If without lawful authority or excuse a person deposits anything whatsoever on a highway to the interruption of any user of the highway he is guilty of an offence”.

No change, the builders are still not wheel washing the trucks, so spreading the mud continues.

Builders have removed the 'bouncer' track, so now ALL the mud thats got onto the trucks tyres is being spread up and down the road, with an occasional visit by a road sweeper...

The road sweeper, aka mud spreader, visits occasionally, so any improvement is very short lived.
