Big growth of Japanese knotweed

Reported by Gregory Campbell at 07:29, Mon 14 August 2017

Sent to Mole Valley District Council and Surrey County Council 1 minute later

This has sprung up and apparently needs attention before it spreads. While it's a criminal offence for homeowners not to addr as it, I do not know if it's on the adjacent land, but this section is by the roadside. It can also dig up tarmac and pavement etc

  • You're right! Japanese knotweed can cause structural damage to tarmac, pavement and buildings. It is not illegal to have Japanese knotweed on your land but it is illegal for it to grow outside of your boundary or in the wild. If you need advice, identification, a survey or management plan - do not hesitate in getting in touch! We are always happy to help. Our email is Best Wishes, Japanese Knotweed Expert Limited
