Jumping traffic lights

Reported in the Roads/highways category anonymously at 12:26, Monday 31 July 2017

Sent to Gloucestershire County Council 4 minutes later

Trying to turn into Horseshoe Drive from the slip on the westbound A40 has become dangerous, with eastbound A40 traffic often driving through a red light after the turn traffic light has gone green. I have nearly been hit, and so have other drivers. This may be associated with the change to sequences which has been signed for the past month or so. There is a good case to install further cameras at this junction, to also monitor the frequency at which vehicles do a U-turn despite existing signage.

  • I did not really expect any action on this problem - Highways England only design the road system, after all. Its maintenance and improvement is not a priority for them.
