Very large Dead Horse Chesnut Tree

Reported in the Trees category anonymously at 12:09, Mon 24 July 2017

Sent to East Hertfordshire District Council 1 minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 1077002.

The tree is located directly behind 64 Gilders Sawbridgeworth Herts CM210EH and a home in Brook End Sawbridgeworth Herts The tree has shown signs of leaf disease over the last 5 or 6 years, however the tree has shown no signs of any sort of growth during this 2027 growing season I'm concerned that the tree is now vulnerable to winter winds, especially that it is exposed to westerly weather patterns I have no idea who is responsible for the tree, however it grows on the bankside of Sawbridgeworth brook alongside Public footpath 16 that runs between 62 and 64 Gilders Sawbridgeworth towards High Wych

  • East Herts Council have responded, informing me that the tree isn't their responsibility as it would appear that the tree is owned by a household in Brookend Sawbridgeworth The tree doesn't have a TPO on it I'm concerned that as the tree deteriorates over time it will become unstable especially in windy conditions Surely East Herts Council have a duty of care for members the public as they along the adjacent publi Footpath just go the west of the said tree
