Cars parking on the pavement

Reported in the Car parking category anonymously at 12:50, Tuesday 18 July 2017

Sent to Woking Borough Council 5 minutes later

There are a significant, and it seems ever growing, number of cars and vans parking on the pavement of Victoria Way between Chobham Road and Chertsey Way (Eastbound). This leaves onkly a narrow stretch of footbath available - bad enough for an ambulatory adult to negotiate, but impossible for someone using a wheelchair, with a pushchair, or walking alongside a small child. This footpath is also a cycle way, and there is no way that both cycles and pedestrians can use it safely. Not to mention the damage this must be doing to the fabric of the pavement.

  • Almost a month on, and no visible action by the Council. If anything, the problem is getting worse

  • A concerted effort to ticket offending vehicles has pretty much fixed the problem. Let's hope it continues.
