Unsafe parking at entrance to Moor Close

Reported in the Car parking category anonymously at 16:38, Mon 10 July 2017

Sent to Harrogate Borough Council 1 minute later

Since parents whose children attend the local primary school have been asked 'not' to park on the main road they have now taking to using Moor Close as a car park with 17 cars recorded in the Close today.(10/07/17) Whilst legal/council action is likely to have to be taken to restrict parking to residents there is an immediate safely issue with a number of parents parking on 'both' sides of the road at the entrance/exit to Moor Close. The problem is such that if a car its exiting as another is entering there is a blockage which can actually mean the car entering the close can be stuck across the wrong carriageway of the main Otley Road. Something needs to be done about this asap before there is an accident.

  • PLEASE NOTE THIS IS A POLICE MATTER Although you could ask NYCC for Yellow lines to be put down then these can be monitored and enforced by Harrogate Borough Council, but we have no legalities or enforcement on this Close. Also please may we ask for future reference you use: info/ 20150/ report_it For the following reasons.

Fix My Street was a 3rd party system that the Council subscribed to until 31st December 2016. The Council no longer subscribes to this system as it has its own Report It forms which allows us to handle your query and take action much quicker than the previous Fix My Street system and therefore all customers are asked to use the Council’s formal system for Report It. Thank you
