Ignoring Parking Restrictions, Blocking Pavements and Access

Reported in the Car parking category anonymously at 13:42, Sat 24 June 2017

Sent to Thurrock Borough Council 3 minutes later

Parking on Plymouth Road is getting increasing worse. The yellow line restrictions are not enforced by the council and should be. Cars and large vans daily blocking pavements forcing pedestrians in to the road and blocking of access to driveways, etc.

A number of these cars are from rental property residents and is causing issues for non-rental residents despite being asked politely to use their allocated parking areas (which they have plenty of). Some of the larger pavement areas are host to cars parking fully off road and driving up on the pavement to get there which is illegal.

The issue has been getting increasingly worse as more properties go up for rent. The council need to enforce these yellow lines which were placed due to the roads close proximity to the station and local school.

Our suggestion is to enforce a max stay time of 3-4 hours at all times to prevent residents from parking like this permanently but allowing enough flexibility for visitors.
