Cars / vans parking too close to junction
Reported in the Roads/highways category anonymously at 14:35, Wed 21 June 2017
Sent to Dorset County Council 5 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 1058236.
Cars / Vans are always parking too close to the junction making the road dangerous to both pedestrians and motorists. Motorists coming down Cherry Hill are forced onto the wrong side of the road so have near misses with people turning into the road from Sandy Lane as they come round the corner and are suddenly faced a with a vehicle on the wrong side of the road. Also pedestrians walking along Sandy Lane having to cross Cherry Hill cannot see up the road because of the parked cars / vans so end up steeping out in front of cars coming down Cherry Hill, who cannot see the pedestrians because they are hidden by the parked vehicles. This has been going on for over a year now and following another near miss yesterday I have looked into ways of reporting the problem.

Still a problem. Pretty sure the owners of the cars live in Sandy Lane and now it looks like builders working on a property in Sandy Lane are parking here during the day causing further problems.

2 Months on and still cars parking illegally and dangerously. Sandy Lane itself is bad enough with buses unable to get past the parked cars, but parking so close to the junction is ridiculous.

3 Months and the problem is getting worse. Seem to be more vehicles parking closer to the junction. The council are a waste of time.
