Dilapidated road causing structural damage to property

Reported in the Roads/highways category anonymously at 12:55, Tue 13 June 2017

Sent to Leicestershire County Council 5 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 1053649.

The deterioration of the road, and the excessive HGV traffic have caused thousands of pounds of damage to my property. The drains and manhole covers are damaged and sunken. When lorries pass over the drain outside my front door, my house shakes ( a problem which is growing ever worse- to the point where i now have to have medically assisted sleep due to this increasing problem) The manhole cover makes a deafening clanging noise when hit by lorries. The surround to the drain is lower than the drain itself, which results in large pools of water collecting when it rains, which is then splashed against my front door whenever lorries hurtle through these puddles. Then, when this water has evaporated, there are mounds of dust, stones and detritus, which are flung up onto the pavement by traffic- the dust flies into my home which exacerbates my asthma. I had the entire exterior of my house re-rendered in 2016, which is now cracking and failing in the areas that vibrate most when heavy vehicles pass this stretch of road. I have reported several times, via phone and e-mail and have only ever had one telephone reply, merely saying someone will be in contact soon! Markings for repair have been sprayed onto these areas THREE TIMES since May 2016- all have faded away (indicative of how appalling this stretch of road is) The vibrations to my house are so bad now, that I have to have a medically induced sleep, otherwise id be constantly woken by the never-ending HGV traffic that uses this route ALL night. I have sought legal advice which i will be pursuing.
