Dangerous trees

Reported in the Parks/landscapes category anonymously at 21:45, Wednesday 7 June 2017

Sent to Preston City Council 6 minutes later

Yesterday during high winds, I witness a young man narrowly escaping being hit by a heavy branch falling from a tree overhanging part of the Guild Wheel at Cottam. The incident may have already been reported but this is not the first time that such an incident has happened and I wonder how long it will be before a member of the public is seriously hurt because these trees appear never to have been pruned back despite their poor condition. When they catch the wind they sway alarmingly and regularly shed parts of their branches. They have outgrown their space and need cutting back. The area lies as the junction of Swallowfield and Miller Lane, just beyond the bollards.
