Micro-Asphalt laid on 1st /2nd June 2017

Reported in the Roads/highways category by Clive Atkins 62 Gilders Sawbridgeworth CM210EH at 15:08, Sun 4 June 2017

Sent to Hertfordshire County Council 2 minutes later

The Herts CC Contractor has now "competed " and moved off site The work is absolutely appalling see photos The area I'm really concerned about is Gilders Cul-de-sac addresses 50 to 68 inclusive CM210EH Before the so called process began, on of the contractors taped over a manhole located in the road directly opposite 58 and 60 Gilders The manhole was covered in tar etc and is now buried Herts CC would have had a better job done if they had employed the type of person who knocks on your door saying I'm working in your area and have some tarmac over etc etc

  • The HCC Highways and its contractor are adamant that two layer were applied, They state that both layers were laid together, if that's the case then only one layer was applied not two

As for the finish, there are various missed areas ( HCC Highways insist it's our cars doing the damage, whilst we egress/ access our drives) The missed areas ain't near drives The other concern is that the contractors covered a manhole with tar, but have not been back to uncover to expose the said manhole The manhole is located between 62 and 64 Gilders In a nutshell if this company had Micro tarmac my drive I would have paid them

  • The contractor and the HCC Highways believe that shoddy work is good enough The road surface wasn't covered by two coats, it just had one coat The missed areas show exactly that And finally, the manhole located in the roadway opposite 62 / 64 Gilders was covered in plastic sheeting to protect it from the Micro Tarmac relaying process, but it is STILL covered in tarmac This begs the question, when will the Contractor/ HCC Highways cone back to expose the said manhole
