Damaged wall on Rother District Council property.
Reported in the Property damage category anonymously at 13:49, Fri 19 May 2017
Sent to East Sussex County Council 1 minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 1039897.
Rother District Council own the butchers shop in Battle High Street and the garden to the rear of the property. The retaining wall at the end of the garden is in a dangerous condition and is slowly being degraded by the roots of a large shrub. Under the present conditions, it is too dangerous for Battle volunteers to tend the area beneath the wall.

I understand that the tenant may be responsible for maintenance of the wall. Even so, part of the wall remains in a dangerous condition and needs attention.

The problem is on RDC land leased to the Butcher's shop. The responsibility is either that of the butcher or of RDC.

Unsatisfactory to say the least. An inspection and report is overdue. In the mean time, the Battle gardeners are not prepared to tend the flower bed below the damaged wall.
