Overgrown shrubbery

Reported in the Pavements/footpaths category anonymously at 13:09, Fri 12 May 2017

Sent to West Sussex County Council 1 minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 1036334.

A2025 Grinstead Lane, Lancing, the footpath on the west side of the road between North Farm Road and Grinstead Avenue is becoming difficult to negotiate due to overgrown shrubbery from the gardens at the rear of Addison Close. The shrubbery is so lush in places that pedestrians have to duck and walk on the pitted grass verge adjacent to the footpath. Lancing Parish Council tell me this is a West Sussex CC problem.

  • West Sussex CC have been in touch. They, in turn, have contacted The Guinness Trust which owns the houses in Addison Close. The gardens of these houses back onto Grinstead Lane. In view of legislation about cropping shrubbery and hedges during the bird nesting season, this problem will not be attended to until July when chicks have fledged. Ahh!
