Overgrown Greenspace
Reported in the Parks/landscapes category anonymously at 11:59, Wed 10 May 2017
Sent to Barnsley Borough Council 1 minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 1035094.
This area of public space is located off Green Street/Pantry Well in Worsbrough Dale and was recently used as the site for the works offices/materials storage during the construction of the new council houses on Green Street.
The contractors responsible for the construction had a duty to restore the land to its original condition once the work had been completed, however, this has failed to happen and as a result we, as nearby residents, are left with an unsightly overgrown mess in which oil seed rape plants, as can be seen in the photographs, are now flourishing - Not good news for us hay fever sufferers.
Contractors engaged by the council regularly cut the grass in front new council properties which are adjacent to this land but they have failed to maintain this once pleasant site.
Some of the trees which were originally on this site were removed prior to the commencement of the building works; those that remain are now seriously unkempt and are becoming an eyesore.

Absolute disgrace! No action has been taken and the site is now much worse than at the time of reporting.
