Large patches of broken tarmac at the edge of the road outside 22 and 24 Ridgewood Gardens

Reported in the Pavements & kerbs category by Sue Cassell at 20:20, Wed 3 May 2017

Sent to East Sussex County Council 5 minutes later

This problem has been here for some time and is getting worse by the day, especially when the road sweeping van comes along. Large chunks of tarmac being dislodged and strewn across the road. I do try to sweep them up, but a bit dangerous for me to stand in the road sweeping!

Updates

  • The patches were apparently inspected but not repaired. They are now much worse (as expected). I noted yesterday that a single similar patch was being repaired outside number 28 Ridgwood Gardens. I spoke to the chap who was repairing it and he said he was only allowed to do the one patch, but to report mine agan as he agreed they needed doing. I was then amazed to see the whole of The Finches being resurfaced yesterday, This is a cul de sac with minimal traffic. Why was this please? Ridgewood Gardens and Colege Road have not been resurfaced for over 20 years, and have loads more traffic including a bus service. Please advise me of what policies are in place to make sure road repairs are properly prioritised. And PLEASE can we have the broken kerbside patches outside 20/22/24 Ridgewood gardens repaired urgently please.
