Heavy lorries speeding causing house to shake

Reported in the Roads/highways category by Sarah Keal at 22:42, Tue 2 May 2017

Sent to North Yorkshire County Council 3 minutes later

Moved to Boroughbridge Road Nov 2016 , noticed early morning and late into evening certain heavy lorries which appear to be travelling over 30 speed limit are causing my house to shake. Worried about affect this is having on my property and keeps my daughter awake whose room is in the attic. Would like someone to look into this asap as we are all finding it intolerable. Neighbour also feels the same along with other residents on Boroughbridge Road. Apparently been a problem since approx 3 years ago.

  • The house shaking seems to have reduced now to only 2/3 times a week rather than several times a day. Did see a police bike speed camera down Boroughbridge Road for the day. My Husband and I shall be writing directly to Harrogate Council as the heavy lorries still speed early morning/late at night when not much traffic about. Pressume they are cutting through to get onto the A1 via Boroughbridge.
