Inappropriate flashing times for "School 20 when lights show" signs

Reported in the Road traffic signs category by Colin Noble-Nesbitt at 21:24, Mon 20 March 2017

Sent to Durham County Council 1 minute later

The two recently introduced "School 20 when lights show" signs on North Road (for Park View Lower School, off Lombard Drive, Chester-le-Street) begin flashing at 2.30 pm. For the next hour, all pupils are safely engaged in lessons in this very well run school for years 7 & 8. So, for (nearly) an hour, the hundreds of drivers passing these signs are being misinformed and mislead and this is negative towards the effectiveness of these welcome advisory signs. Based upon personal knowledge, Durham County Council could helpfully focus the flashing on 3.20 to 3.50 pm (and 8.30 to 9.00 am around the 8.55 am school starting time.) The same applies to the pair of signs on Lombard Drive itself.
