Thorny bush overgrowing pavement

Reported in the Pavements/footpaths category anonymously at 10:08, Fri 17 March 2017

Sent to Hampshire County Council and Winchester City Council 2 minutes later

I was walking on what little of the pavement has not been taken over by grass and overgrown shrubs from the adjacent garden when I narrowly avoided walking into a bush with huge vicious thorns which is sticking out at head height above the pavement area. The shrub has no leaves and is difficult to spot until it is too late. The bungalow from which this 'garden' is emerging appears to be empty and has no visible street number. It is possibly 78 and situated a short distance before the Magdalene Hill Cemetery travelling towards Winchester.

  • The problem I reported concerning a thorny bush with long sharp spikes sticking out across the pavement in Alresford Road has not been dealt with. The bush is now sticks out even further. I notice a partially sighted gentleman regularly walking along this pavement and He would be quite unaware of the danger of walking in to the thorns on this overgrown bush.
