Construction debris is blocking the street

Reported via mobile in the Public Right of Way footpath category anonymously at 16:24, Thursday 3 September 2026 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 10045483.

For the past three days, building works outside No. 16 Robin Hill Drive have resulted in a significant amount of construction material being stored in the carriageway, including aggregate, paving materials, equipment and associated debris.

As shown in the attached photographs, these materials are occupying half of the road and substantially reducing the available width for vehicles to pass.

Last night this became a serious concern when three ambulances/emergency vehicles attended an address in Robin Hill Drive. Because of the combination of the roadworks, stored materials and vehicles, the road became effectively blocked and residents were unable to drive in or out for over an hour. The photographs show how restricted the remaining carriageway was while the emergency vehicles were in attendance.

This raises an obvious concern about emergency access, particularly if fire appliances or other larger emergency vehicles needed to reach properties further along the road.

The obstruction has now been present for approximately three days and appears likely to continue. In addition, construction vans connected with the works are regularly parked in the road during the restricted parking period of 11:00 am–12:00 noon, despite the parking restrictions applying at that time.

Could Bromley Council please urgently inspect the location and confirm:

Whether the storage of aggregate, paving materials and construction equipment on the highway has been authorised;

Whether the remaining carriageway width and traffic management arrangements are considered adequate for emergency vehicle acce
