Deep pothole on A3057
Reported via mobile in the Pothole category anonymously at 09:35, Wednesday 2 September 2026
Sent to Hampshire County Council 1 minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 10036833.
This pothole is subsidence as a result of what appears to be failed tarmac repair after a water main leak a couple of months ago. If vehicle drivers see or are aware of the subsidence they often swerve around it. When an HGV crosses it there is often a loud bang as the suspension tries to cope with it. I have already reported the pothole but have had no response. I regard this as significantly and potentially dangerous. As we live opposite, the noise of vehicles traversing the subsidence also wakes us during the night! Would much welcome a speedy response. Thank you.

Although the whole of StockbridgeHigh Street is being retarmacked, the increasingly large pothole as illustrated - 50 metres from the roundabout has still not been fixed. Vehicles are swerving around it to avoid damage to the suspension. As there is no sign to prevent vehicles approaching down the hill from Romsey, I would suggest damage is inevitable.
