Load of dumped domestic waste

Reported via mobile in the Flytipping category anonymously at 10:39, Friday 28 August 2026 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Bristol City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 10016320.

We noticed a load of mixed rubbish had been dumped next to pavement outside residential block of flats on Fri 21st Aug. See photo attached with an address 211a Wellington Hill West (one of the flats). Overnight this rubbish was then relocated into multiple black bin liners and moved inside perimeter of property. It then was relocated to the pavement overnight on Wed 26th Aug, along with weekly recycling bins and black bins, ready for the weekly collection on Thurs 27th morn. Some of the multiple black bins were already full to overflowing and the collection of additional bags of mixed waste has been dumped all over the floor. The bin men subsequently emptied the majority of black bins, but did not empty the ones where lids were open due to overfull. They did not collect the multiple bags of additional waste. Now Fri 28th August, the area on the pavement opposite our house is littered with overflowing black bin bags and in addition, more random rubbish items have been added to the mess. We took another photo today attached, showing waste cardboard from rubbish, with same address on (211a and 211 Wellington Hill West). We knocked on door of flat number 211 which was propped open. No reply. Appears to be house of multiple occupancy. The hairdresser next door owns some of the properties but confirmed with us they do not own number 211. They are equally impacted and distressed by the fly tipping of rubbish. The residents in these flats show little regard to waste disposal and rarely take in their bins from pavement so we regularly do this job. The waste is not only unsightly and a health hazard and an obstruction but also invites others to add their own rubbish there too. We hope that the rubbish can be removed promptly and also how can the landlord be reprimanded and stopped from allowing this repeated offence? This is our family home of 22 years and the sight of fly tipping is unacceptable whenever we step out of our front door. It is very depressing.

Thank you.

  • Hello. Overnight (yesterday Fri 28th), some frustrated neighbours have removed the black bags and placed them at the back gate of the offending flats (I did not observe this or know the neighbours). A neighbour updated me this morning that further rubbish was dumped on the pavement again this morning by residents moving out of another neighbouring property no 207 Wellington Hill West! This waste was returned by the neighbour to the back gate of no 207. The offenders are resident at both flats numbers 211 and 207. The waste rubbish is now currently on private land but the issue is not resolved. I anticipate the offenders will replace the rubbish on the pavement, because they appear to be moving out of Thier property today. Thanks for your help and advice.
