A series of large potholes on A40 heading west towards Burford just after the Farmer's Dog roundabout.

Reported via desktop in the Pothole category anonymously at 12:45, Thursday 27 August 2026 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 10011801.

A series of large and worsening potholes that are a danger to cars and bikes, either through direct damage or by causing accidents. These have been reported on numerous occassions since the spring (I believe this is the 10th time someone has reported this issue), with the others being closed as 'fixed' or 'not meeting the requirements for repair'. This is hard to believe given their size on such a busy road. It is also worth noting that a similar set of holes on the other side of the road were recently repaired, so I don't understand why these haven't been. I attach some photos my wife took from our car as I was driving, to try and illustrate the issue (as it is not safe to stop there and take proper pictures). Please stop ignoring these reports and make the necessary repairs. (It is also worth noting that at the end of this run of holes, there is another pair that were repaired last year that are now opening up again as well).
