Scuffing and fairly shallow indentations on tarmac

Reported via desktop in the Uneven surface category anonymously at 12:15, Thursday 27 August 2026 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Bristol City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 10011569.

Whilst making a delivery of palletized goods to a property in Carmarthen Road, BS9 4DU on 13th July 2026, the tarmac outside number 3 had become soft and pliable in the extreme heat. The resident of No3 had had a drop curb installed and the pavement re-tarmacked less that 12 months before by private contractors and is not happy that it has been damaged. The goods being delivered were palletised and being carried on an electric pallet truck. 1000's of similar sized and weight pallets are delivered each day throughout the uk without similar incidents occuring, therefore whilst we confirm the damage was caused by a member of our staff carrying out his daily duties we do not accept liability, as the surface should have been of sufficient standard to withstand the heat.
