Rubbish being left in private alleyway between Alexander Street & Brook Street despite having gates and letters sent to residents/landlords some months ago.

Reported anonymously at 22:06, Mon 22 February 2016

I think the residents/landlords along Alexander Street/Brook Street need reminding via letters that the private alleyway between the two is exactly that and not a dumping ground for their rubbish. The Council will take their time in removing it as the alleyway does not belong to them. If people want to live that way that is up to them but I - for one - do not. We are lucky that we have gates but even those remain open a lot of the time, which defeats the object of a deterrent (and I blame the residents for this). I wrote an email to Carlisle City Council exactly a week ago about the fly-tipping problem and - as yet - have not even received an acknowledgement as a reply.
