Trees being removed and not replaced

Reported anonymously at 10:24, Thu 30 April 2015

Corner between 27 and 29 Lucerne. Last year the council started to cut a tree on a verge down. When challenged, they said it was damaged and needed to be removed. When we looked together it was agreed that it didn't look particularly damaged, but still had to come down as it was on a list that said it was damaged. I expected at the very least the tree would be replaced but it has not. Also at the corner near the playing field where there are parking areas there used to be 2 trees enclosed in metal railings. First the railings disappeared and then the trees. Now the area has been tarmacked over in the square surrounded by the block paving. I would expect the Council to replace and maintain the trees. When I bought my house, it stated that I would have to replace any trees on my property so it seems a bit rich the Council aren't also expected to do the same!
