Dangerous road surface for cyclists

Reported anonymously at 01:00, Fri 29 August 2014

More are less from the boundary of the lancs/w yorks boundary at cliviger/portsmouth all the way to the centre vale park area the existing road is in bad shape & in particular dangerous for cyclists who have weave in & out of ruts & potholes and poor quality road repairs following services works. Clearly this stretch of road has been neglected at the expense of w/york roads further east that were improve due to the recent T de France 2 day events. Its hard to believe, but resurfacing work is being carried out on pavements between todmorden & Hebden bridge which one would consider to be of lower priority to that of making good the existing road surface between lydgate & cliviger in the cornholme area. To travel down the road from lancs into w yoks, its embarrassing to see how poor the road condition is on the w york side as one crosses the boundary. The lancs side has just been resurfaced and yet it was in better condition before than the w york side road is now. Its been like this for years, as portsmouth & cornholme are some distance from the political centre of calderdale, they are out of sight out ofd mind, in other words neglected. The area would be better being administed under lancashire as it was just over 100years ago. There's rubbish everywhere due in part too few bins, particularly at some of the bus stops & where the children play, lights out at night, wall tops missing or just not replaced after falling off or dedicated bins for dog mess because owners don't realise that they can used the few standard bins. Just up the road in lancs, they have all these things and even have habging baskets on their lamposts.
