Why are you cutting verges in May?

Reported anonymously at 09:00, Thursday 19 May 2022

It is No Mow May. There is a widely acknowledged biodiversity crisis. The UK Government has targets on nature recovery with a 2025 deadline. Please can you explain why are you cutting grass verges on the Great North Road and not following the majority of Councils now reducing cutting, and saving money in the middle of a cost of living crisis? Could you explain what plans the Council has to restore nature in the Borough, and when you expect to adopt this cost-saving quick win?
