Contract's sign still up a month after work finished

A contractor who replaced a garden fence in our neighbourhood put up a sign advertising their services on the fence they replaced. Now, a month after they finished the job the sign is still up, possibly without the knowledge of the inhabitants of the property whose fence it concerns.
