National Cycle Network route along Pingle Drive

Reported by Chris Brennan at 21:18, Tue 27 April 2021

Can some extra signposting be provided for the National Cycle Network route along Pingle Drive? At present it's not clear whether cyclists heading into Bicester along the path on the east side of Oxford Road (and aiming for Old Place Yard) should cross to the north side of Pingle Drive using the 3-stage controlled crossing at the Oxford Rd/Pingle Drive junction, or whether they should stay on the south side of Pingle Drive and cross at the first Zebra crossing. The path on the north side of Pingle Drive is narrower (narrower than current shared-use standards) and busier than the south side, but I think it's the north side that is the official cycle route despite its shortcomings. I'm happy to provide more details and also feel that Bicester Village will be keen to help improve sustainable travel to and through their site. Thanks for any help you can provide, Chris Brennan - Sustrans Volunteer Ranger for National Cycle Network
