Constant parking by train commuters on Hightower road which limit visibility of on coming vehicles and poses a serious risk of vehicle collision.

Reported anonymously at 13:08, Tue 21 January 2020

Due to the close proximity of the train station and hospital to Hightown Road, Bankside, Western Crescent and Lime Avenue (OX16 9BU) All in Banbury Commuters are constantly parking on residential streets and main roads to avoid car parking fees. This is causing a considerable issue for residents to be able to park outside there own properties but also on Hightown road poses a serious risk of road traffic incidents as drivers travelling in either direction cannot see oncoming cars due to the amount of parked cars on the road. This issue is a daily problem for users of these roads and residents alike. Considering Hightown Road is a direct route from the Horton General Hospital, should parking on this road be disallowed to allow emergency vehicles a clear raid on which to operate. Also personally Lime Avenue would greatly benefit from permit parking to stop non residents parking disrupting resident. I could see no reason why residents on Western crescent would not agree to a permit system on that road as they experience the same issue and have spoken to a number of residents about that and they are of the same opinion about commuters abandoning there vehicles to avoid parking chargers. This issue has been ongoing for at least 10 years on Lime Avenue and Western Crescent and for the last couple of years on Hightower Road.
