Car parking and destroying public grass areas

Reported anonymously at 10:29, Thu 1 August 2019

Once again having to complain about the state of grass outside our house on Linden Terrace, numbers 34 to 40. People living in one house are continually driving along the footpath and parking/destroying the grass. When the council come to cut the grass they now have to leave a large part uncut because of a car parked, which is beginning to look awful. The car then wears away the grass to mud, you can see in photos. Mud will be dragged by car onto footpath and road, making it a hazard. if this was outside of a councillors house it would have been dealt with straight away! I am still waiting for an update from an email dated 11 June 2019 to Carlisle City Council, ref no. 00074297 and from the same date to Cumbria Highways ref no. W1980967621. As everyone else who has to put up with this mess, except the people causing the mess, our house owners, we will be looking into this to see if the mess affects our house prices, if it does we will consider taking legal action. Part of our council tax pays for the upkeep of the grass areas on our streets, and this is beyond a joke. We would like something done about this as soon as possible. Why not put a couple of posts in at the end, and partway along grass bank, to stop vehicles from using it as a road! I would hate for nothing to be done, and an accident to occur on the footpath between a car and a pedestrian.
