Junction markings warn to point of danger

Reported anonymously at 08:33, Fri 12 July 2019

There is a narrow right-turn lane provided for traffic turning off Lever Edge Lane at the junction of Higher Swan Lane - however, the white paint in the middle of the carriageway is incredibly worn. The paintwork has been worn but understandable for around a year, but in the last couple of months has reached the point where it is not obvious that there is a right-turn lane at all. Because many drivers cannot tell there is a right-turn lane, right-turning traffic often keeps to the left of the notional centre of Lever Edge Lane, which can lead to it becoming blocked in the Westbound direction. Conversely, because drivers heading East do not see an obvious hatched area in the middle of the road, they sometimes end up on a collision course with right-turning traffic which is attempting to use the right-turn lane as intended.
