Speed bump potentially dangerous to cyclists

Reported anonymously at 19:17, Mon 4 March 2019

Hi there, This is for the attention of your road safety/highway engineering department. The speedbump immediately outside 40 Hanbury Street caused me to crash while cycling along it earlier today. I appreciate the need for speed bumps in the area, but I've had bad experiences of drivers trying to overtake in too-narrow streets when I go around them - so when going up this popular bit of cycle routing earlier I went directly over the bump while going under the speed limit. The severity of the speedbump threw me from my bike and over into the road. I wonder if you'd be able to consider whether an alternative form of speedbump would be better for an area that gets heavy use from cyclists? I've never had anything like this happen to me before going over one, and while I don't pretend to know the answer for sure - this seems like something worth investigating its suitability for the road type? Thanks
