Traffic light time needs extending

Reported anonymously at 12:38, Sunday 3 February 2019

The first set of traffic lights as you come off Coventry Road need to be green for a longer period on their own. As they are linked with the traffic lights that control Avenue Road, they are causing congestion and tailbacks on Coventry Road during even slightly busy periods. Here is the problem: when they turn green, the lights on Avenue Road turn green which means vehicles cannot exit Coventry Road (give way to to right). When they are red, the traffic that was on Avenue Road is now blocking the exit to Coventry Road. Lights turn green and the cycle begins again. If the lights were green for a longer period on their own, this will greatly reduce the traffic and congestion on Coventry Road.
