Parking issues

Reported anonymously at 22:05, Tue 8 January 2019

Hi, we are having major parking issues on Grove Street. The road isn’t wide enough for cars to park on both sides but people are doing! This is both inconsiderate and dangerous. There have been several instances of “lorries” having to reverse back down the street as they cannot pass through and this has included council dustbin lorries (which has resulted in bins not being emptied). I firmly believe that emergency vehicles would struggle to get through which is putting lives at risk! On top of that, when cars are “double parking” they are obstructing the pavement meaning it can be difficult (sometimes impossible) to get past, especially with pushchairs! It can also make it very difficult for residents to be able to access / leave their own driveways due to the inconsiderate parking! Parking is an issue generally due to close proximity to the train station and The Vic (pub). Grove street would benefit grately from yellow lines on one side of the road and a residents parking scheme. Kind regards, Steven Bradley 5 Grove Street
