Car booters parking

Reported anonymously at 13:33, Mon 30 August 2010

Bank holiday again, Monday 30/11/2010, car booters are parking their vevicles in CARLISLE ROAD, from 08:00 hours when there is a car boot sale on in Wellington Drive, Longford. traffic cones have been laid out all along Wellington Drive, and partly along the roads off wellington Drive. There are cones placed along CARLISLE ROAD, but only as far as its junction with Southgate, no cones are placed past Southgate. Therefore the car booters, too mean to pay to park in the field, park in Carlisle Road. With the traffic turning left out of the car boot sales onto wellington Drive, and 2nd right into Carlisle Road (1st right is a cul-de-sac), causing major traffic flow problems for residents and residents' visitors, queues along carlisle Road from both ends (Wellington Drive & Ascot Drive. Some of the car booters vehicles' registration numbers are as follows: W81 HCE , DA09 RXO , K13 DTG , V482 LDW , GK02 OVX , S366 EDK... These problems have existed for years, but Cannock Chase Council, Staffordshire County Council Highways or the Police, appear to do nothing and ignore these problems. Car parking permits and yellow lines for Carlisle Road have been requested, but have all been refused. Suggest a traffic flow count/survey be actioned whenever there are events on at Wellington Drive field, and when school is session and school events on. Congestion is unbelievable, unless it is seen each time (i.e. a resident)....
