Confusing signage, Saturday Market Place

Reported by Rob Archer at 18:31, Tue 6 February 2018

The Saturday Market Place is one-way (eastbound) except for cycles. There is an 'Except for Cycles' sign under the No Left Turn sign on Church Street but none under the No Entry signs at the Church Street / St James St / SMP junction. There is also no warning to eastbound road users on the SMP to expect cyclists coming in the opposite direction. This has led to confrontation - particularly at the junction itself (which is suboptimal anyway). I was yelled at by a driver today who said I was 'riding the wrong way'! A sign (as used at Waterloo Street) is needed at the western end of the Saturday Market Place as well as 'Except for Cyclists' signs at the eastern end.
