New beach fencing about to disappear, 1st March

A new fence was erected in November 2009 ( just 3 months ago) on Greatstone beach at the location shown on the map; presumably as part of the sea defences.
Unfortunately, the fence was erected below the high water level and is currently being eroded by the spring tides. Please see attached photos.
Why was it erected in this location, knowing that such tides would erode it as they have done?

Street nameplate is confusing!, 26th February

The junction of Hardy Road and Meehan Road (facing towards the direction of the caravan park in Clark Rd) I live in Meehan Road and often get Delivery drivers, workmen etc... knocking on my door for a certain number ** Hardy Road, i always point them in the right direction for Hardy road but it does get confusing for people who are not locals as the street nameplate for Hardy Road is actually in Meehan Road and because the junction there is white lined for give way etc it is very mis-leading also there is not a sign to let people know that Meehan Road is on this road the council would only need to put Meehan Road street nameplate next to Hardy Road therefore identifying both road names.

A car battery, in a plastic bag, had been left in the roadway into the Leas Cliff Hall Car Park and has now been removed by a passerby to the footpath where it is danger of a pedestrian either tripping and falling over or being kicked about by youths who often congregate there at night.

Mud, 13th October

There is a considerable amount of mud been deposited the road by tractors, etc. coming out of Haguelands farm. This mud extends as far as Burmarsh village and almost to the main road. One car has already slid off the road and today I saw a motorcyclist almost come off his vehicle because of this. The farm owner/foreman is not bothering to clear this up and is totally indifferent to accidents caused by it.

Ball games and truancy, 19th September

Request 1: - Clear overgrown trees from “No ball games sign”

Request 2: - Police to warns children that hey should not be damaging property with ball games

Request 3: - Investigate regular truancy claims

I’m not sure if this falls under appropriate things to report, but the area of Battery Point has been getting worse and worse over the last six months or so due to uncontrollable children in the area playing ball games. They basically treat the street as their own playground and sometimes don’t seem to be at school. The residents in the area don’t mind a few games going on but now it is getting overboard. Balls are kicked into windows and car lights have been damaged but nothing seems to get done about this. Residents have tried talking to the children and their parents to no avail.

There is a sign next to one of the offending kids houses that states “no ball games” but it is covered by overgrown trees, maybe trimming them back is request that might be more applicable for this site, the sign is between 19 and 20 Battery Point, Seabrook, Hythe. If a sign was up on display the residents would maybe feel a little more empowered at least.

The children that seem to be the worse offenders come from numbers 19, 20 and 21 Battery Point. The kids that are often seen playing during school time come from 20 and 21. I would rather not give my details as I really don’t want to be targeted by the families in question.

This situation has really made peoples lives a misery, noise all day and everyday means that they basically cant enjoy living in their own homes anymore. Any help or advice on what can be done regarding this situation would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Play park, 28th August

Our play park needs attention, the swings need fixing and we need new park equipment, myself and some other parents are willing to fund raise if need be for this. This parks materials have been there for 20 plus years as i have been told by locals while other parks in surrounding areas have had new and more equipment. All we have are swings that are not safe and a small climbing frame.
