Scheduled refuse collections not being done - Poor communication from Pendle Borough Council, 19th January

The scheduled refuse collections in this area are not being done despite several complaints to the council. The scheduled collections on the 4th (refuse), 8th (recycling) and 15th (refuse) have not been done.

I understand that the weather would have made the collections on the 4th & 8th difficult (but not impossible) there was no excuse for missing the collection on the 15th.

After several calls and emails from myself and my wife we still have not had the refuse collected or any return communication from the council.

I would like a call from the council telling me exactly when the refuse will be collected and if the recycling collection due on the 22nd will go ahead.

All we ask is for the common courtesy of a reply and for the rubbish to be collected this week.

Dog fouling along Hallam rd to Hilldrop, 30th December

Young guys living up the hill mainly Smith st to Tavistock road own these rather scary looking dogs some quite big which they take down to Hallm rd and Hilldrop to do their business. They dont seem keen to soil their streets but people along Hallam rd and Hilldrop have to deal with the dog fouling. With a little effort they can be caught, like clockwork in the am and pm they march down, but council dont seem interested. People can be seen walking in the road sometimes because the side walk cant be used.

Back street used as extension to rear yards, 5th December

There are several properties at the bottom end of Lord Street (which shares a backstreet with Princess Street) that are leaving out there wheelie bins and recycling bins all the time. These are making the environment I have to live in very unpleasant and unhygienic. There is also loose rubbish, which probably once started out in a wheelie bin, just thrown into the back street. It’s a mess.

Speeding Cars, 4th December

Princess Street is being used as a short cut between Albert road and north valley road by people wishing to avoid the traffic lights. These cars drive at excessive speeds down a quiet residential street which comprises of elderly residents and couples with young children. The police have been made aware of occasions of dangerous driving however this is becoming more frequent and I think the problems needs to be addressed.

Derelict house and garden, 14th September

This house has no toilet, rotten windows and is completely unhabitable. Can the council make the owner whom at the moment is campaigning to keep others houses from being demolished in the area? The garden is a dumping ground and as of today a large amount of old joists from St Mary's church were delivered. This is a disgracefull plot which shows the rest of the street up.Please please help in keeping our streets tidy and a place where we love to live.

Enough is Enough, 6th September

Hi,
Could someone from the council please take a look at the dog fouling problem we have on Calf Hall Lane.
We have a dog bin at the bottom of the lane and one just before the first cattle grid, however we have a real fouling issue!
Today I tried to cut the grass down either side of the lane up to Cow Pasture Barn and to be honest I had to stop due to nearly being sick from the smell of dog fouling on the tyres of the tractor!
I normally drive the lane and don't often walk it however I did today and after seeing the disgusting amount of dog foul its driven me to search the net to take action on trying to stop the culprits.
I look forward to your response!

Derelict land, 23rd July

This area of land was fenced off by the housebuiders ( lovell homes ) and it has been totally forgotten by the authorities . It is overgrown , the fence is always getting broken by kids with footballs . All we ask is that it is tidied up eg . levelled out and grassed with the council mowing it now and then . There is access through a double gate . This area is dragging down the whole estate and affecting the area as a whole . It has been reported several times to the local councillors but nothing is ever done .

PACKAGING - recycling / dustbin, 23rd July

The Council are demanding Council Tax when don't live there and a disabled pensioner . The Councillors & MP refuse to address any issue.

The amount of rubbish was minimal as had letter sent & the Managers father had left packaging from carpet laying .Over 10 calls 3/ /4 months ago and to this Manager in Nelson . It was agreed the new tenant[ special needs ] would put in his dustbin and recycling .Has he got his own mine disappeared. Since the council have been demanding council tax for last year what for ?What have I been paying for as they are now sending notices yet again for a paltry amount but it is the principle .How ridiculous can you get ??!!

Persistant Obstruction of Access, 20th July

The map shows a narrow 'L' shaped back street with access from either Bank House St. at one end or Ford St. at the other.
My Garage is situated at the corner in the middle of this back street and is most easily accessed via the Ford Street end.
Off-street parking is almost none existent in this area and it is quite common for both sides of Bank House and Ford St. to be lined with parked cars.
This in itself is not a problem but people looking for a place to park are now parking on the back street itself. One at each end!
Because the street is so narrow, this effectively blocks off any access to my garage.
Can something be done to keep at least the Ford Street end clear of parked cars?
